Trust in God

QUESTION: Trust in God - Help Me God to Trust You!

ANSWER:

Trust in God - Insights from God’s Word
Therefore let everyone who is godly pray to you while you may be found; surely when the mighty waters rise, they will not reach him. You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance. I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you. Do not be like the horse or the mule, which have no understanding but must be controlled by bit and bridle or they will not come to you. Many are the woes of the wicked, but the Lord’s unfailing love surrounds the man who trusts in Him. Rejoice in the Lord and be glad, you righteous; sing, all you who are upright in heart. - Psalm 32:6-11

Trust in God - His Kingdom Cannot be Shaken
Prayer: As I come before you in this moment, I sense a reawakening happening in me, alerting me to a new awareness of Your grace and my need to live under the full control of the Holy Spirit. It would be so easy, given the ebb and flow of a normal ministry life, to focus on the external signs instead of looking to the spiritual realities that are evident all around me.

I know I need to take my focus off of myself where my own fears and inadequacies could grip me, and turn instead to see You as my God, the Almighty, Eternal One -- the Alpha and the Omega. It also helps me to recognize the times in which we now live -- which allows me to put down my fears and anxieties -- knowing You are at work in a very special way in these times.

So, Jesus, in this moment I choose to put my focus on You and what You are doing -- and not just the conditions that swirl all around me. You are my focal point, Jesus -- and Your Holy Spirit’s power and discernment fuels my passion and allows my focus to become as a laser beam -- cutting through the deceptions that are all around me.

You are also reminding me as I pray that Your Word (Hebrews 12:27) tells us that everything that can be shaken will be shaken -- so that what cannot be shaken may remain. This is a profound biblical truth for me knowing I have purposely chosen to build my house on the Rock. I choose to hear my King’s voice, and I choose to obey and follow His lead -- even if it means walking through flooded waters and ground that shakes with every step I take.

There appear to be so many strongholds at work in this world right now, my King, so I pray for deliverance. Everywhere I look I see the effects of Satan’s counterfeits -- which have permeated the world. Please change that right now -- hear my heart as I cry. Show the world that Satan is trying successfully to control this world with fear -- and that includes the church. We do not have to accept these strongholds -- we must war against them wherever we see them. The eternal destination of far too many hangs in the balance.

Raise up Your warriors, my King -- warriors who recognize Your "still small voice" and do not run away. There are many among us who have been "training for reigning" by growing in their own walk with You -- even at the expense of their own ambitions. Many warriors have David’s heart and are now planted in our churches -- everywhere all around the world. These warriors are taking their rightful places in Your Body and are moving toward the front lines of battle to confront the evil they find in their own back yard and the world in which they live.

Recognizing this gives me such hope, I find myself singing and shouting how great You are and how awesome are your ways. I feel Your great love for these warriors and for those they are sent to save. I reach out for Your peace and choose to use that peace as a weapon against the enemies that try to surround my family, church, and city.

You are a glorious God who speaks and the world trembles and who showers His love on all mankind -- bringing hope to a lost and dying world. To You be all the honor and glory.

Trust in God – Making it Personal
Reflect: The times in which we live are oftentimes difficult and challenging. As the Bible teaches, we have been given a kingdom that cannot be shaken. We must consciously focus our efforts on the purposes of God trusting that He will provide for all of our needs. It is true there are strongholds in place -- and we must cooperate with God -- ridding our homes, churches and cities of these counterfeit strategies. There is a raging battle all around us, but we are to dwell in the center of His peace. How do you do that? You focus on what God is doing, never losing sight that the battle is His and all we need will be provided. Take a look at your family and consciously bend your knee in prayer for them. Join a body of believers who follow God into the battle instead of running away. As believers we have been given so much. Don’t let Satan steal your authority over your family, church and nation by being complacent or lukewarm. Run into His arms -- not away from Him. Look around you and join Him in His work. You will then find yourself standing on solid ground.

What do you think?
We have all sinned and deserve God’s judgment. God, the Father, sent His only Son to satisfy that judgment for those who believe in Him. Jesus, the creator and eternal Son of God, who lived a sinless life, loves us so much that He died for our sins, taking the punishment that we deserve, was buried, and rose from the dead according to the Bible. If you truly believe and trust this in your heart, receiving Jesus alone as your Savior, declaring, "Jesus is Lord," you will be saved from judgment and spend eternity with God in heaven.

What is your response?

Yes, I want to follow Jesus

I am a follower of Jesus
