Prayer is Worship

QUESTION: Prayer is Worship - A Prayer of Praise to God

ANSWER:

Prayer is Worship – Insights from God’s Word
"At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish and five were wise. The foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any oil with them. The wise however took oil in jars along with their lamps. The Bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep." - Matthew 25:1-5

"Be dressed for service and keep your lamps burning…" - Luke 12:35

Prayer is Worship – Hear My Worship
Prayer: I hear Your voice this morning, Jesus, so loudly proclaiming the need for righteousness, holiness, purity in motivations and actions. You are breathtaking in Your beauty, awesome to behold. You are righteous, holy and pure, and You stand at the head of Your army calling us to step up and step out to Your call.

You are our beacon of light shining out into the darkness, and the revelation of Your glory is blinding. You stand ready with sword in hand -- and the angels loudly announce Your approach. Your face is bright and everywhere You set Your gaze -darkness flees. There is a shield of protection all around Your army, and within the camp of the army of God Your anointing oil is seen. It covers every man, woman, and child in this camp, and it resonates with the brightness of a new day dawning.

My King, You are indeed the Lord of Hosts. You are indeed calling out to all who have ears to hear and eyes to see. You are showing us Your holiness and Your righteousness, and You are calling Your church to a standard of purity and holy motivations that will no longer be denied.

I look upward into Your Face and I see the compassion of the Father shining out for those who have left the sheep pen. I see a determination on Your Face to retrieve those who are lost, and I sense Your divine anointed power being released on Your army as You lift up Your sword and begin the march. Your love is the most incredible part of Your armor, and it is given to all of Your army. It is so bright and pure that simple contact with anyone girded in its protection results in new life.

I feel such peace in this quiet place this morning -- almost as if all the fulfillment of our prayer is beginning to be released. It’s almost as if a flood of pure, cleansing water is pouring out and growing stronger and stronger as it joins with other streams of water. You remind me that prayer releases power, and Your power when released is unlike anything we can even imagine. You remind me to get ready -- to prepare my lamp with oil -- to devote myself to intimacy with You and knowledge of Your Word. You shine Your light into any confusion that still exists in me, and Your peace floods my heart.

I confess, my King; I don’t know exactly what You are saying this morning. These impressions are strong, and they are flooded with peace. I am not afraid -- rather I am ignited by the passionate fire that seems to be burning ever brighter. You are changing my life right now -- moving me forward into the unknown, and miracle of miracles, I know no fear. I am giving up my security blankets. I am stepping out into a dawning of a new day, and my spirit is soaring with anticipation as I recognize the approaching footsteps of my Lord of Hosts.

I am humbled beyond words to even share in a vision of such magnificent beauty. I tremble slightly at the recognition of Your approach. I am in awe to be right here, right now -- in this quiet time and place.

I don’t have all the answers, and I’m not even sure what questions to ask at this moment; so I simply choose to sit quietly until You make it clear. The only thing I know for sure is the gratitude I feel at the knowledge I have of my King -- and that alone at this moment is all I need. Thank You, Jesus, for Your love and tenderness toward me. I choose right now to cleanse myself and begin the vigilant watch making sure my lamp is filled to the brim with oil so I will be prepared when Your timing is right.

Prayer is Worship – Making it Personal
Reflect: This is a most unusual prayer for me. The real clarity I have is that we must be prepared and ready. We need to be righteous, holy, and have pure motivations in what we do. Our integrity and our perseverance to the cause of the King are critical.

What do you think?
We have all sinned and deserve God’s judgment. God, the Father, sent His only Son to satisfy that judgment for those who believe in Him. Jesus, the creator and eternal Son of God, who lived a sinless life, loves us so much that He died for our sins, taking the punishment that we deserve, was buried, and rose from the dead according to the Bible. If you truly believe and trust this in your heart, receiving Jesus alone as your Savior, declaring, "Jesus is Lord," you will be saved from judgment and spend eternity with God in heaven.

What is your response?

Yes, I want to follow Jesus

I am a follower of Jesus
