Christian Prayer Fear

QUESTION: Christian Prayer Fear - A Prayer of Surrender

ANSWER:

Christian Prayer Fear – Insights from God’s Word
And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into His likeness with ever increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. - 2 Corinthians 3:18

Christian Prayer Fear
Prayer: Lord, I approach You this morning with a full measure of fear and trembling. Not fear in the human sense of the word – but a fear (amazing awe) that recognizes the approach of my God – and helps me to realize I do not have to run and hide. As You approach -- my heart pounds -- Your glory is being manifested in this place. Until the day I die I will stand in awe that You willingly came looking for me.

I hear the cry of Your heart this morning for the restoration of Your people. Not only did You die for us, You also came to restore and renew us. The recognition is strong in me these days that as believers we are called to manifest the glory of our God, just as Jesus did when He walked the earth.

This morning I readily proclaim my victory over sin – and I also claim the power You grant us to demonstrate Your kingdom -- right here on this earth. I want nothing more than to cooperate with You in all You are doing around me today.

Being Your child has helped me to see Your glory -- and to understand that my birthright as Your child is to be fully restored as Your daughter. You grow me closer every day so I can really get to know Your heart. You help me to live as You call me to live -- thereby reflecting Your glory – just like Jesus did when He walked the earth. This astonishes me – even to this day.

My cry right now is to have a right relationship with You – which for me means being in daily communion with You – as we journey together through the day. When I do this it seems as if nothing can defeat me. It’s almost as if You have a hedge of protection around me as I walk and talk with You.

It is in the closeness of our relationship that I find all the answers for my life. Everything flows correctly when we journey together. My wisdom increases, my vision is clearer, my courage is greater – and I grow stronger with every step I take.

My prayer today is to intercede on behalf of those who are held in bondage to any fear that is preventing them from walking hand in hand with You – or from manifesting Your glory. We must stop living separately from You. I hear Your Holy Spirit nudging me to speak boldly in prayer before Your Throne of grace for my brothers and sisters who struggle with fears of any kind.

I stand against the attempts of Satan to draw them away from Your Presence causing them to try and hide from You. You are the only One who can remove these bondages! I ask You to renew and restore Your kids to a proper functioning relationship with Yourself. I ask You to remind them of Your love for them – that same love that sacrificed Your Son for their salvation. Help them, I cry, to overcome these fears – and to love You as You deserve to be loved.

I know You desire to change Your kids into mature believers. We must learn how to avoid those things in our lives that cause us to stumble off of Your path of life. Instead I know You want to change us into Your own image by drawing us closer to Yourself -- so we can see Your glory for ourselves. Help us my God to overcome these fears – because from experience I know until we do Satan (and our own human frailties) will continue to derail us.

Consume us with Your love, Jesus, instead of fear! Grow us into a fullness of joy and love that only You can give us – a fullness that changes us from the depth of our being. Transform us to be soldiers of the Cross -- people who willingly keep their focus on You and Your kingdom purposes.

For those who live in their own strength, I ask You to help them see You as You really are – as You fill them with Your love. I know You are coming for Your Body -- but until then, help us each day to fully understand our place as Your child -- and step into that place without fear – full of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control. To You be all the honor and glory!

Christian Prayer Fear – Making it Personal
Reflect: The only true security we have as believers is the security of God’s love -- and His provision for His kids. Too many of us are caught up in fears (of many different forms) – and we live our lives trying to run and hide from God – almost as if we think He doesn’t see those fears. The reality is we are to manifest His glory to the world -- and to do that He allows us to draw closer to Him so we can see His glory. Satan wants to stop that process – to derail us from this purpose of God. Put Your faith in God’s love for You and trust Him to show you the path He has designed for you personally. Make a conscious effort each day to see and understand Him more clearly. This is the path to the fullness of life we are promised. Fear of any kind is simply a big boulder in your way and it needs to be blown to ashes. Knowledge is a powerful tool in defeating fear. Recognize and claim your true position as a child of God and step boldly into it.

What do you think?
We have all sinned and deserve God’s judgment. God, the Father, sent His only Son to satisfy that judgment for those who believe in Him. Jesus, the creator and eternal Son of God, who lived a sinless life, loves us so much that He died for our sins, taking the punishment that we deserve, was buried, and rose from the dead according to the Bible. If you truly believe and trust this in your heart, receiving Jesus alone as your Savior, declaring, "Jesus is Lord," you will be saved from judgment and spend eternity with God in heaven.

What is your response?

Yes, I want to follow Jesus

I am a follower of Jesus
